The Swine Flu Vaccine
Much has been said in favor and against swine flu vaccines, and many people have looked for different alternatives, while others choose to go without the vaccine altogether. As for the former, such alternatives include flu drugs such as Tamiflu, an anti-viral drug made with oseltamivir, and which is used to treat and prevent influenza A virus and influenza B virus infections. Tamiflu was originally developed by Gilead Sciences, but in 2008 Indian company Cipla was granted the right to make a generic version called Antiflu. Cipla is known for manufacturing a generic Viagra drug called Silagra.
Even though the World Health Organization (WHO) has recognized Antiflu to be equally effective as the brand name drug, people should still wait a while before they buy flu medication and
Viagra Online at the same place. Oseltamivir, whether branded or generic, is indeed no substitute for the swine flu vaccine. In fact, the World Health Organization has reported that 314 samples of the prevalent 2009 pandemic H1N1 flu tested worldwide have shown resistance to oseltamivir.
Studies have shown that the swine flu vaccine, on the other hand, is both safe as well as effective. One of the few downsides of the vaccine is that it took too long to manufacture large quantities of it. However, pharmaceutical company Novartis has developed a new, faster method that involves cell culture as opposed to chicken eggs. This process has the advantage that it leaves no egg protein residuals in the final product, making it safe for patients with egg allergies.
